These days, Max Verstappen’s team change is becoming more and more common. With Red Bull struggling, the driver who is increasingly linked to Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso, has his say on the matter.
The Spanish veteran could even be afraid of his position against the current world champion, but Alonso would not be himself if he thought so...
"I'm not worried about my place, I have an active contract until 2025. However, I think these rumors are a very promising sign, both from my point of view and from the team's perspective. The fact that the world champion is most often linked to Mercedes, Ferrari and us shows the quality of the project we are working on and what the future holds for Aston Martin.
"I myself will be on the track as long as I feel I am fast and competitive enough, and as long as the team needs me. My commitment is long-term, I will be here for many more years, just maybe in a different role. If that means we don't win the world championship with my management, then I will be very proud. And if the opportunity arises, I would be happy to have Max Verstappen as my teammate..." the legend mused.
