F1 has had some interesting and meaningful days, making it very difficult to draw any sensible conclusions from the Bahrain tests.
The final day brought interesting events again, especially in terms of weather, as the teams were treated to much milder and warmer conditions this time around. There was no shortage of other events either, as Lance Stroll missed the first few hours feeling unwell, then a cracked windscreen on the grid side, and then a bizarre red flag was caused by a bus entering the track... The fastest lap of the morning was set by Charles Leclerc, with Andrea Kimi Antonelli in second place, and Lando Norris on an imaginary podium.
The emphasis in the afternoon was on the longer stages, but Max Verstappen took the lead and held it until the last ten minutes of testing. Then came George Russell, who eventually improved that lap time, but strangely the best time of the three days was not that, but Carlos Sainz's time in yesterday's session. Different compounds, different tactics, hiding performance, that's all that is certain, and the development of McLaren and the progress of Williams. The rest is impossible to predict.
