The 2025 racing season hasn’t even started yet and George Russell is already poised to win something. There’s a good chance he’ll be the one the FIA makes an example of with its new swearing regulations.
The Mercedes driver spilled the beans during the first day of testing in Bahrain, telling streaming service Viaplay about a power cut: "Oh shit, the lights went out."
He has thus already found himself in the spotlight of the new regulations, which examine whether he has caused moral damage to the FIA, its reputation, its members, its officials and motorsport in general. What a joke! If the charges stand, Russell's minor offence will cost him €40,000. If he swears in the future, that sum could rise to €120,000, followed by penalty points and even a one-month ban. On that basis, Yuki Tsunoda and Max Verstappen do not even have to start the 2025 season...
