The Williams team also reported this, emphasizing that they support Colapinto to be in the active line-up in 2025, or at the latest in 2026. If we combine this with the reference to 2025 and Flavio Briatore's statement, we can come to some rather interesting conclusions.
"Franco has spent nine races with us, during which time he has fully demonstrated that he belongs on the grid. We have always said that we support him in this, and I think the deal with Alpine will give him that opportunity," said James Vowles cryptically.
"We will start the season with Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan, that's for sure. What will happen after that, we will only know with time. If there is a driver among us who does not develop and does not bring the expected results, I will replace him. There is no place for sentimentality in F1," Briatore said mysteriously.
