All this was hinted at by the Dutch star’s father, Jos Verstappen, who revealed that he knows his son has a plan to take a trial year out of the F1 championship:
"He still has a valid contract with Red Bull Racing until 2028, but after that nothing is certain. We'll see if he's still interested in F1... So far, throughout his career, everyone has told him what to do and how to do it. Now he's approaching the moment when he won't listen to anyone, but will make his own decisions. What's certain is that life goes on outside of Formula 1, which really stimulates Max's imagination.
I think it's possible that he'll take a year off, try his luck somewhere else, and then come back. I don't know what's going to happen yet, but one thing is for sure: he's not motivated by winning seven or eight world titles, he's not chasing records, he's already happy with what he's achieved in his Formula 1 career so far," Verstappen's father made a very interesting statement.
