Lewis Hamilton has been harshly criticized by the former boss of Formula 1. Bernie Ecclestone believes that Hamilton should not settle in Italy for a long time.
It may have “some connection” with Scuderia Ferrari’s traditions, Maranello is not the kind of place where Hamilton’s silly celebrity-related antics will necessarily appeal. Ecclestone believes it does not strengthen the Briton’s position:
"His contract runs until 2026, but he won't fulfill it. Piero Ferrari brought him there and he thinks he did the team good, I hope he won't regret it. I hope they won't say later that it would have been better if we hadn't done it... Age is one thing, competitiveness is another. I think Lewis is tired, he's not as motivated as he used to be. If he hadn't won any world championship titles yet, maybe the situation would be different, that would have fueled him. But he's got seven. Another source of the problem is his past behaviour.

He really did a lot of things that make you dislike him. I don't understand why someone has to dress like that as a world champion and a millionaire, I really don't like it, it's not appropriate. I don't understand why he keeps doing these stupid things... Of course he's a talented driver, but he's definitely overrated," Ecclestone sharply criticized Hamilton.
