Loic Serra has started work at Scuderia Ferrari and it is said that the results will soon be seen and felt. The Ferrari code 677 will be a completely new design and will theoretically be much stronger in lap pace.
Serra has a wealth of experience in vehicle dynamics, which it is trying to transfer to the red 2025 model. The main changes are said to be suspension components, torsion bars and dampers, and the direction of action is to make the most of the new Pirelli tyres in the widest possible range of work. The aim is to reduce overheating and enable better tyre management, which will allow for stronger stages per lap. That is the goal.
The 2024 car, the SF-24, worked well with the tyres in races, but in qualifying drivers often struggled to find grip and warm up the tyres. This often led to the Scuderia Ferrari only starting from further positions, despite having the potential to do better. This has been a major focus for the team under Loic Serra. The changes to the 677’s design are intended to transform the Ferrari’s basic behaviour, and signs of this are expected to be visible as early as the first inspection at Fiorano on 19 February.
