Brazilian Grand Prix, Sprint Race: Norris Takes Gift Victory

Grand Prix Brazylii, wyścig sprintowy: Norris zdobył prezentowe zwycięstwo

Tamás Jancsovics |

In a low-octane race, Oscar Piastri handed Lando Norris a smooth start-to-finish victory to help him advance in the points classification.

Oscar Piastri made a very good start, maintaining his leading position, and there were no changes at the front. Max Verstappen tried to attack Charles Leclerc aggressively, but after many attempts he was unsuccessful. Not so Nico Hülkenberg, who improved the most of all on the track, but behind him the fronts stabilized. Sergio Perez also tried, and he had reason to, because the seat at Red Bull Racing is very uncertain for the Mexican. In the last quarter of the race Verstappen caught up with Leclerc and took third place from him, while McLaren prepared to change places. This happened on lap 22, and the race almost ended in the VSC phase due to Hülkenberg's retirement, with only half a lap of the race. In the end, Lando Norris won the sprint ahead of Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen.
