Lewis Hamilton recently admitted that staying at Mercedes, which has failed to show progress for many years, would be a bigger risk to his career development.
That's why, listening to his instincts, he ended up at Scuderia Ferrari…
"Any new opportunity is really a leap into the unknown. No one sees the future, when you change jobs, when you change teams, there's always a risk. But I think the real risk is getting stuck in a situation that's comfortable, because that makes you arrogant.
It was on this basis – call it instinct or premonition – that I joined Scuderia Ferrari. I wanted a challenge, because that's what I need now. Wonderful people, a wonderful opportunity is waiting for me here, I can't wait to work together and I believe that together we can achieve something really special.

Every year is a new beginning for me. Even in the times when I was winning all the time, I knew that it was a state and that nothing was guaranteed in the future. Every day I have to fight hard for success, so that every day I get in the car as a better driver. It's my gut feeling and that mentality that has brought me to a place where I've achieved much more than I ever thought I could," Lewis Hamilton reflected on his situation.
