Hamilton: "I understood how to drive a Ferrari"

Hamilton: "Zrozumiałem, jak prowadzić Ferrari"

Tóth Krisztián Márk |

Lewis Hamilton feels that after four races he has finally found harmony with his car, from now on everything will be different and the results will come.

The seven-time world champion struggled with the red racing car, which can be attributed to the fact that he had not yet "completely let go" of Mercedes and the habits associated with it in his head:

“It has become clear to me now that we can really get stuck in our own habits. I drove a car for one team for a long time, and now I am in a completely new car that requires a completely different driving style and set-up.

For example, there is an engine brake that works completely differently, the brakes also work differently, I used a different type than in Scuderia Ferrari. Here we use Brembo, whereas in Mercedes for the last 15 years I drove Carbone Industrie. This car requires a completely different driving style from me, so I have to adapt. And that's what I do, I adapt and I think I'm starting to get a feel for how to drive this machine.

"Charles Leclerc, for example, comes off weekends with one set-up, while I try one after another and I'm already seriously behind schedule because of that. That's why my performance is inconsistent, I just have to do a better job and I'm going to do that. I'm making things harder for myself at the moment, but at the next race I'll try to turn a new leaf, start with one set-up and stick to it. I think I've understood what it takes to be competitive, and if I do that I'll qualify better, and if I qualify better I'll have a much better weekend!" said Lewis Hamilton positively.
