Sergio Perez had another incredibly poor weekend. For the Red Bull driver, just getting to the starting line was a problem, and the following struggles were even more pathetic. The culmination was a collision with Liam Lawson, which resulted in him crashing his car. The Red Bull Racing team principal did not leave it without comment.
"Formula 1 is a results-based business. If someone here does not achieve results, first they are warned and then they are fired. We work as a team, we fight as a team and we need both our cars, both our drivers. That is the nature of Formula 1. We have always given everything to Perez and we have always supported him, which will also be the case next weekend in Brazil. But soon there will come a moment when we have to think about what to do next and make a painful decision.
We are currently third in the constructors' championship and we want to fight for victory again. We have four races left and it will not be an easy task," Horner said sternly of Perez.
