Honda has left Formula 1 without really leaving anywhere, and will soon launch a new factory project, this time with Aston Martin Racing. Of course, they will have a say in who the Greens choose for their cars...
Koji Watanabe, head of Honda Racing Corporation, confirmed this and suggested who the favorites might be:
"There are more and more drivers, but the number of places is limited. As a factory team, we will continue to play a big role and influence who the drivers will be who will drive our car in our joint project with Aston Martin. Regardless of who our driver will be, we are planning with him for the long term. We have our candidates and we know both of them very well.
The team will have the final say, but the basic structure remains the same as it is now at Red Bull. We will have a major influence on the key questions. I would also like to stress that we are happy to be working with Adrian Newey again, we will do everything to be competitive," said the boss, who knows both (Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda) very well.
