Although the season hasn’t even started yet, there’s a growing consensus within the industry that defending champion Red Bull Racing will have plenty to bounce back from.
Red Bull itself does not deny this, quite the opposite. Of course, now you can comment on nonsense that "it is dormant" etc., but the truth is that certain characteristics have emerged during the tests. And this one, in the case of the Australian Grand Prix, does not predict the success of Max Verstappen. This was also admitted by Helmut Marko, who emphasized in an interview that despite the progress made compared to 2024, others have done more:
"McLaren are definitely the favourites at the moment. Testing has shown that they have strengthened significantly both on a single lap and in longer stages, not to mention the tyre wear. Nevertheless, their advantage is not alarming, especially considering the weather conditions in which the first kilometres were driven.
It would be difficult to predict the exact hierarchy of forces, but I think that this year even four teams could compete with each other. I am talking about the same four teams that dominated the field last year, only I predict stronger competition," said Helmut Marko.
And we just add that if that happened, we wouldn't worry about it at all!
