The end of Mick Schumacher's Formula 1 dreams, the young driver officially severed almost all ties with the Mercedes team that was his last resort.
The young German practically announced that his F1 dreams are over, and from the end of the year he will not even take on the role of reserve driver in the team, he intends to link his further career entirely with the WEC (World Endurance Championship):
"I am very grateful to Toto Wolff and the entire Mercedes-AMG Petronas family for welcoming me over the last two years, allowing me to get a glimpse into the team's work. Without a doubt, this opportunity has made me a much more experienced driver, and I have become more familiar with the engineering side of racing, but it has been a difficult and painful time for me. It is a bad feeling to just watch these cars and not compete with them, it is hard for me to swallow, so I had to make a decision. In the future, I would like to fully concentrate on racing and fully commit to the sporting side of motor racing. As a driver, your goal is to be constantly on the track and prove yourself, because we all strive for that feeling," Mick Schumacher, who is heading to Alpine, may have the only hope for him if General Motors arrives in 2026, explained his decisions.
