Juan Pablo Montoya rarely speaks up, but when he does, it's always for a good reason. Now is no different, as he couldn't ignore the performance of former F1 driver Carlos Sainz.
However, the situation in which Montoya spoke out does not concern just one person, as Franco Collapinto, who has burst into Formula 1 with a bang, also has a significant influence on him. The Colombian driver also did not forget to include him in his speech:
"If I were Christian Horner or one of the Red Bull bosses now, I would go to Williams immediately and tell them that if they are happy with Colapinto, let him stay with you and let Sainz come to us. Franco would also benefit from not having to face such a huge challenge as Max Verstappen right away. Maybe he would be even a bigger risk than Sergio Perez. The latter has experience, he has race wins, he knows the conditions. But let's remember what happened with Alexander Albon, how he broke down... And this is where Carlos Sainz comes in. It would be a challenge for Verstappen, a huge reinforcement in the constructors' fight, and they would also benefit financially from it.
If I were Horner, I would choose Sainz over Collapinto," Montoya probably said from the hearts of many fans.
