Although Lando Norris lost the individual competition, his performance in the last round secured McLaren the constructors’ world title. That’s already in the bag, but in 2025 he is also set to win the drivers’ competition…
Norris admits defeat and that Max Verstappen was better than him in 2024, but also sees the lesson behind the missed opportunity:
"Being second, losing a victory always hurts, but - this may sound strange - I'm happy that I approach 2025 with the idea that I can fight. I know myself, my strengths, my limitations, nobody knows me better than myself in terms of what I need to develop. There are areas where I am strong, there are areas where I am not, I am open to criticism and ready to develop where necessary.
Last year my form in qualifying wasn't the best, but this year I was almost twice as good and I got a lot of pole positions. This year I didn't have that extra element yet to beat Max Verstappen, to compete with him. But I definitely felt that he is also a human being, and if I improve my technique here and there, I can definitely say that I have the strength to beat him.

I think I have already come close to that this year in the last few races, where I have achieved strong results. I hope that 2025 will be the year when I am fighting for the world title from the very first race!” declared Norris with determination.
