The joke is that the last time this happened was 800 Formula 1 races ago. It all happened in the company of a pole position and fastest lap!
Furthermore, Oscar Piastri has joined the ranks of the World Championship challengers, as he is just three points behind team-mate Lando Norris who is in the lead. Piastri has won four races in his career so far, with his latest victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix setting an Australian national record.
Alan Jones achieved similar success for Williams in the 1980 season-opening Argentine Grand Prix, which was the 329th race in the series' history, while last week's Bahrain was the 1129th, so exactly 800 races had to pass before the Australian could repeat it. Which is a great sign for Piastri that when Jones did it, he also won the world title this year...
