Lando Norris dominated Saturday afternoon's sprint races at the Qatar Grand Prix but handed victory to team-mate Oscar Piastri on the final lap.
Both McLaren drivers had a great start, with Lando Norris immediately breaking away from the pack. At the back of the field, it was interesting to watch Max Verstappen, the newly crowned world champion, struggling, who couldn’t get past Pierre Gasly on lap four. He only managed to do so on lap eight, which is unusual for him… Speaking of Red Bull Racing, it’s also worth mentioning the “feat” of Sergio Perez, who couldn’t pass Franco Collapinto, who was starting from the pits (instead, the Argentinian did it straight away with him) and was 19th. It should be noted that the fact that someone can be so far away in Formula 1 and be a member of the Red Bull team is slowly reaching the limits of unbelievability… In the meantime, Charles Leclerc, after a spectacular battle with Lewis Hamilton, moved up to fifth position, thanks to which we saw the McLaren, Mercedes, Ferrari system. Ultimately this did not change, except in the sense that in the last lap Lando Norris handed victory to Oscar Piastri, and behind them George Russell also jumped onto the podium.
