Ralf Schumacher is certain Max Verstappen will not race for Red Bull Racing next year, a view he stands by even in the face of a potential lawsuit.
The reason is not Red Bull's poor form this year, you have to dig deeper to understand what the German is saying:
"It is absolutely clear that Max Verstappen will only stay at Red Bull for a short time. It is not because of the poor performance of the car, but the new engine design has disrupted the relationship between driver and team. And then there are the power struggles... However, Mercedes and Aston Martin with Honda may be a familiar route for Max. There he knows what to expect. In Red Bull, meanwhile, there will be more difficulties, for example with the engine electronics, the gradual erosion of the team. There is constant tension between Christian Horner and Helmut Marko, which does not lead to anything good, even a blind man can see that. Max Verstappen hates it and runs away from it. That is the case, even if Horner sues me for my opinion.
Now Toto Wolff is also after him, because he managed to eliminate Verstappen once, which turned out to be a huge mistake. But Max will not go to Mercedes, but to Aston Martin. Either Fernando Alonso or Lance Stroll would have to leave early to make room for him, but the greens will sort that out.”
