The Qatar Grand Prix programme continued in the sprint qualifying with not much new to report: Lando Norris took pole in the sprint qualifying!
In SQ1, after the first timed laps, Lando Norris and George Russell, and then the Scuderia Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc, swapped the lead. After the final fast laps of the stage, Norris' advantage remained, so he also finished on top, while among those eliminated - in the case of the first name, we can already say without a doubt that this is no surprise - were Sergio Perez, Yuki Tsunoda, Esteban Ocon, Guanyu Zhou and Franco Colapinto.
After the first attempts at SQ2, the trend remained the same, i.e. McLaren made a strong impression. The only difference was that Oscar Piastri was now at the forefront, slightly ahead of Leclerc and Norris. Ultimately, this dominant role was maintained, only George Russell could disrupt this arrangement, which led to the creation of the Norris, Russell, Piastri trio. However, Liam Lawson, Fernando Alonso, Alexander Albon, Valtteri Bottas and Lance Stroll did not have any further continuation, they could already start preparing for the main program on Saturday.
There were not many unanswered questions left in SQ3, with Lando Norris and McLaren finishing this stage of the weekend quickly, while George Russell and Oscar Piastri took pole position easily.
