The sprint qualifying for the US Grand Prix took place on Friday and Saturday, with Max Verstappen being the fastest.
During the 12 minutes of SQ1 we saw a non-stop race, with the leading positions constantly changing. Max Verstappen, Kevin Magnussen, Lewis Hamilton and so on... Ultimately, Charles Leclerc won this stage, ahead of the aforementioned Hamilton and Verstappen, while among the eliminated there were some surprises from Oscar Piastri, Esteban Ocon, Alexander Albon and, traditionally, two Alfa Romeos.
In SQ2 the game pattern was also unchanged: Ferrari took the lead, this time Carlos Sainz was the fastest, followed by Verstappen and Hamilton. Of those eliminated, two names are worth noting: Sergio Perez and Liam Lawson. While the former is wasting away in a car capable of winning the world championship, achieving pathetic results, the latter, after many breaks in the VISA RB, also easily reaches this level... And by the way, two Aston Martins and Pierre Gasly also said goodbye.
In SQ3 it looked for a long time like George Russell could be the winner and only his teammate Hamilton or a Ferrari could pose a threat. In the end it didn't happen, Max Verstappen found some extra time somewhere and won the sprint ahead of George Russell and Charles Leclerc!
