Max Verstappen dislikes being compared to the likes of Ayrton Senna or Michael Schumacher, while admitting there is some overlap between him and other record-breaking champions in their careers and morals.
Many people, for example, mention the above-mentioned names in a negative context in connection with Verstappen, claiming that they too were "dirty racers". The Dutch driver sees it completely differently.
"I am not interested in praise or compliments at all. I just want to win and I will do anything to achieve that, so I will do anything! That connects me with drivers like Michael Schumacher, I really see similarities in that. He also did everything to give himself the best possible chance of winning! That was when he was in the car and competing, and that was also outside the car, when he was working on the development. He was never afraid and always listened to common sense. That's exactly what I do!" Verstappen described himself and his style.
