Max Verstappen said this in the post-race celebrations that he could win the 2024 world championship with McLaren or even Ferrari. Many were surprised to ask their boss how a newly crowned winner could say such a thing?
"He can say that on the basis that it is completely true. There is no driver left who can beat him, only himself, and there is no other driver who could win the championship at the wheel of a Red Bull. And since he did not drive the best car, it is obvious that he would have had a chance to win the world title in another one. It was a difficult and turbulent season, but I am not sure whether we will be as successful in 2025... If we can give him a car that is not as capricious as the one this year, then yes, Max will do it," assessed Helmut Marko.
