Sebastian Vettel has pledged his support for his former biggest rival, with the German world champion believing that if anyone, it's Lewis Hamilton who can pull Ferrari out of its long-term crisis.
Although he supports his rival's success, it was Hamilton who once prevented him from developing at Scuderia Ferrari. Vettel, however, is not worried:
"It's true that I didn't make it because Lewis had a better package with Mercedes at the time. We'll see how he'll work out with Ferrari, but I'm rooting for him with all my heart. We fought for many years, and in the meantime we've become good friends, and I don't have to prove his skills and work to anyone. He's the most honest driver in current Formula 1, his achievements and records speak for themselves, and he always uses his influence for positive purposes, so I'm glad he's still part of the field. I'm rooting for him to win the championship, but it won't be easy. There's Charles Leclerc, who's very talented, they're both a very strong duo, but it's not just up to them whether they'll have a chance to win the championship in the last races. Let's hope it'll be a close competition from which everyone will only benefit," Sebastian Vettel mused.
