“He has very little time to prove himself, he is starting to emerge from that period of grace that characterised the euphoria following his arrival. He can do so by taking the initiative from Leclerc. This is not a short-term project, but the good news for Lewis is that he has already achieved this – at least on a marketing level.
His success depends on whether he can take the team away from Leclerc or whether he can make the team his own. That's what he has to do, not just in a business sense, but also physically, on the track. He has to get pole positions, he has to win, he has to show himself as a contender for the world title," the former world champion said of another former world champion.
