You may all remember Lewis Hamilton's unfortunate qualifying on Saturday. The seven-time world champion was eliminated in Q1 but came back from the back of the grid to fourth in the race.
Although the team’s initial simulations predicted a maximum of sixth place, Hamilton emphatically refuted this, and according to his (former) boss, if not for an unlucky incident in qualifying, he could have taken victory:
"I always try to look at events objectively, with the eyes of an analyst, and in my opinion, if that buoy hadn't stood in his way and he had qualified higher, Lewis would have fought for victory. But that doesn't leave any mark on me, because we've achieved so many victories and successes together, that what has happened now, or hasn't happened, doesn't affect our relationship in any way.

But you have to give him his due: he competed as world champion in Abu Dhabi. He started 16th and patiently, tactically climbed to fourth place and also finished ahead of the Red Bulls. In my eyes, that's a masterful achievement, no doubt about it!" - Toto Wolff praised his rider once again as team boss.
