Did you know that a competitor who does not follow the starting procedure correctly is penalized by X amount, and another who curses is penalized twice? Because of this, the competitors from the organization representing their interests are fed up!
The international motorsport federation has recently gone too far with its stupidity, which has not only irritated fans. The drivers’ association, headed by George Russell, has written an open letter to the FIA president:
"We are professional drivers competing in Formula 1, the pinnacle of international motorsport. We are gladiators, putting on a special show for the fans every weekend. When it comes to bad language, there is a huge difference between wanting to hurt someone and using foul language in relation to the weather, our dead car or in the context of a racing situation.
We would therefore like to ask the FIA president, Mohamed ben Sulayem, to consider his tone and language when speaking to us or about us, whether it is in private or in public. We are adults who do not need to be instructed by the media, especially on such everyday matters as what we should say or what we should wear…" Russell and his team strongly criticized.
